Description
At the bottom of Presles’ crag in the Vercors mountain range, so in dazzling landscape, the caving offered here give ou access to on of the most incredible underground you’ll ever could see.
This unique underground river takes you visiting the cave with a room of rare fossils. This day trip will leave you with unforgettable memories.
A 130-foot-long crystal-clear lake requires the use of an inflatable boat to start and get further. A short climbing gives access to the fossils gallery, a 3000 ft long room, where are visible many concretions as stalagmites, stalactites and drapery you saw only in Jules Vernes Movies until now!!
An option allows to get through a 33-foot-long passage where you have to walk on all fours among some rock blocs. The caving world is yours.
At the end, the exit off the cave is the same than its enter, to find back there the afternoon sun light near grotte de Choranche.

Is Gournier Cave feasible for beginners ?
Yes, provided you are in good physical condition, especially for the aquatic part.
Can we go to the cave whatever the weather is ?
No, the exit will not be possible to go if there are a significant of precipitation the day or 2 days before the outing.
Are we going to the Chevalier room?
Yes, subject to the pace of speleology along the course!
Is the water cold ?
Average temperature is 6 to 7 degrees in the Gournier cave.
Are the narrow passages mandatory ?
No, but the "4 legs", especially between the dining room and the river.
Is the picnic included in the price? And should we provide bags to transport it ?
The picnic is not included. It will be transported in a waterproof container, and Caving bags will be provided to you to carry it.

The upper part of Ecouges canyon is reserved for sports people. Indeed, the reminders unfold continuously in an exceptional receipt. And we leave **the gorge with full cliff. Much descend the cascade 70m to joind the road and the second part's departure.
Between Grenoble and Valence, the Ecouges canyon is at the top of the most beautiful courses' list in Vercors. With abseil up to 70m await you on the upper part, then we can continue the lower part which is very complete with abseil of 10 to 25 meters, many jumps, slides to finish the beautiful day!
